Overview

Step into a living watercolor where emerald valleys unfurl beneath snow-capped sentinels, and shikaras glide past floating flower markets on Dal Lake’s glassy surface. Here, mornings begin with the crackle of noon chai simmering over copper pots, afternoons drift through Mughal gardens where fountains dance to forgotten poetry, and evenings wrap you in Pashmina sunsets. Kashmir doesn’t just welcome you—it serenades your soul with saffron fields, walnut-carved houseboats, and pine forests that hum lullabies.

Tour Highlights

✓ Dal Lake Dreams:

  • Sleep in a vintage cedar houseboat, awakened by floating vendors selling kahwa (saffron tea) and freshly baked bakarkhani bread.
  • Glide past lotus blooms at dawn, your shikara man humming Sufi ballads as mist lifts to reveal Himalayan reflections.

✓ Meadows & Magic:

  • Gulmarg: Ride the world’s second-highest gondola to Apharwat Peak, then picnic where wildflowers outnumber ski tracks.
  • Pahalgam: Trot through Betaab Valley on ponies named after Bollywood stars, their hooves splashing icy streams fed by Kolahoi Glacier.

  • Old Srinagar: Bargain for hand-embroidered Phirans (woollen cloaks) in a 200-year-old market, then let a calligrapher ink your name in Kashmiri script.

✓ Village Whispers:

  • Aru Valley: Sip salt tea with Gujjar shepherds, their flocks grazing beneath peaks that blush pink at dusk.
  • Saffron Harvest: Join farmers in Pulwama (Oct-Nov) as sunrise turns fields purple, fingers stained gold from plucking kong (stigmas).

✓ Taste of Paradise:

  • Wazwan Feast: Eat royally—36 courses, from gushtaba (velvet meatballs) to rogan josh—on a trami platter shared with new friends.
  • Secret Tip: Find the tiny bakery near Jamia Masjid for sheermal bread dipped in wild honey.
